The Technology Process The technology process is an important aspect this course. It is a cyclic approach to development of a creative product based on the following processes. Identify and Analyse a problem: Before you can do any work you must understand what the problem is that you are trying to solve. Identifying your target audience is a key component of this step. Research: Finding out as much as you can about the topic and documenting what you have found. Generate ideas: Group discussion and/or individual contemplation on possible approaches to solving the problem at hand. Model: Preparing a design for a possible solution to the problem, making modifications. Document: Outlining plans, justifying actions, time-lines and log sheets. Produce: Selection and effective use of appropriate tools to implement the design. Evaluate: Appraising the process and the product. Considerations * There is no one starting point. * It is possible to move in any direction at any time while working on a solution. * The starting point depends on your learning style and on the task. * Wherever you begin, you must be able to establish where critical decisions were made. * To view the above as a whole system where the total experience is the most important aspect, and not each discrete part. * To be successful in this course, both the thinking and processing aspects of the technology process must be demonstrated to a high level in all outcomes of the course.
