Learning Pack overview

A Learning Pack is a resource for learning about a task-related topic. Work through each section of a Learning Pack to develop the knowledge and skills you need to complete each task or the assessment tasks that your teacher provides.

Click on a task name at the left of the screen to access a Learning Pack related to that task.

Each Learning Pack consists of the following sections.

Preview
  • Introduction to the learning topic
  • Learning outcomes for the topic
  • Before you start: key skills/knowledge you should already have, before doing the topic
  • Check your understanding: an activity to get you thinking about what you may already know about the topic
Reading

This is a document that can be downloaded and printed, as this contains multiple pages of notes and documents related to the topic.

The reading focuses on the knowledge and skills you will need to meet the learning outcomes.

Practice

Activities are given that get you to:

  • apply your knowledge and allow practice toward a task
  • investigate the specific features of your own software and hardware
  • research, interact or use a resource online.
  • check you have understood the information and explanations in the reading.
Research

Mostly links to websites that may be useful for further information, help or practice related to the topic

Terms

Key words, acronyms or phrases that may be new or unfamiliar to you

You may have already worked through a Learning Pack in this Unit

Some Learning Packs are shared between different Units of competency.

If you have already completed one of the Learning Packs in this unit for a previous Unit of competency you have done, there is no need to do it again. However, it's a good idea to revise the content, check your understanding of it, and do the practice activities before you do the tasks for this Unit of competency.
